The AAEM Physician Group Consultation Service allows emergency physician groups to obtain brief consultation on a variety of topics. Consults will typically occur via phone and/or email, but occasionally may occur in person. Topics can include patient flow, patient experience, staffing, group governance, dealing with impaired physicians, recruiting, coding/billing/reimbursement, insurer contracts, medicolegal issues, diversity, growth/expansion, clinical protocols, finance, contract threats, leadership transitions, telemedicine, freestanding EDs, urgent care, residency education, medical student education, nurse interactions, medical staff interactions, hospital leadership interactions, etc. The AAEM-PG Consultation Service can also offer formal coaching to ED leaders.

Pricing: AAEM-PG clients will receive credit for 20 consultant hours per ED site ($10,000 value), per year. Non-AAEM-PG clients could also access the Consultation Service, at the standard rate of $500 per hour. AAEM-PG clients that fully utilize their allotment can purchase additional consultant hours at a discounted rate of $300 per hour. Consults will be billed in 15-minute increments. Travel time, if necessary, will be billed at the same rate (flight/drive time only).

Bob serves as President of Greater San Antonio Emergency Physicians (GSEP) an independent, democratic group with 9 EDs and 49 emergency physician partners. Bob graduated from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville before entering medical school at the University of Missouri. He attended medical school on a military scholarship. After graduation he completed a transitional internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. Bob and his wife Dena then spent three years in the Republic of Panama where Bob worked in the ED of Gorgas Army Hospital and as Officer in Charge of a health clinic for active duty soldiers and their dependents.
